Just a thought..
Its been time since I posted something here but here I am trying to pen down my thoughts once again(keeping it short and crisp this time..).
Recently I saw a special broadcast on one of the news channels about old age homes which forced me to give a thought to the way things work. The lovely people who live there have nobody but themselves. They have been through a lot all way in their life and now they have been left alone. Many of them have families who don't have time for their elder ones. One way to sort things out is to tell their kids to take care of their parents(which I am sure the whole world has already told them a million times). The second way could be to have an "old age home" along with an orphanage. In this way elders can do what they are best doing at i.e. imparting good moral values to the next generation. They would also get a family to spend time. The kids on the other hand also need love and the right direction to lead a successful life ahead. I don't know if this idea is already in use but I couldn't find something like this on google either.
I feel its a good idea and can be taken forward. But then again different people think differently. If you agree with what you have read please try and spread the idea in your own way. If you disagree then also I would like you to give your feedback about this post.
Thanks..Cheers!!

The long wait :-|
B.E. now stands for Berozgar Engineer(jobless for those who dint understand...however my blog is read by Indians only..that too just a few friends of mine..). This blog is dedicated to all my friends and their engineer friends and others who passed their B.E. or B.tech this year. The year when the recession hit the industry so bad that thousands of people lost their jobs and many others(freshers like me) lost their hope getting a job or being given Date Of Joining(My case).
Big brand names and pathetic management go hand in hand(at least here). Big IT companies selected young and enthusiastic(i am not talking only about myself here..) engineers in huge numbers and when it came to give joining these companies were no where in site(not considering Infosys..that is the most respected company among engineers now).
Some of the companies sent a rejection letter straight away(shattering all dreams right away), while there are others who didn't send a rejection letter but starting screwing students in the name of online training(that was kind of same as people had to give 30+ useless exams at a very short notice period...ankush i want a good comment this time) and then there are still more who have given no information about the joining date and has done nothing to keep its future employees occupied.
Wondering which of these company is better because people who got through 2nd and 3rd category of companies are thinking it would have been better had they been rejected in the first place because now 5 months down the line they could have looked for another job by now instead of sitting and waiting for the company to get back to them. However getting a rejection letter after getting selected by a prestigious company is like...(I don't know really like what but I don't think I would like to feel it either)
There is nothing me or any of my friends can do about it though. Its bad luck guys and don't worry this time would pass. There would be a day when we will sit and laugh about these days. Remember you are not the only one who is going through this and trust me we all have a bright future ahead.
Cheers!

News ????
When was the last time you saw an hour of some sensible news on TV? ummmmmm..well you will not be able to find an answer even after reading this complete post.
The other day during IPL season 2 I saw a news on TV which inspired me to write this post. They were talking about Shilpa Shetty taking revenge from SRK because he had thrown her from top of a building in the movie bazigaar. And now they were relating to a match between Rajasthan Royals(Shilpa's team) and KKR(SRK's team). All this while I was wondering where do people get these stupid ideas from? I am pretty sure creative writing back in school doesn't help them.
"Rakhi ka swaymwar" or whatever it is is surely a news on the news channels these days. WHY? is my question. Do we have lesser issues to deal with that the media is busy showing what is going on in some stupid shows on other TV channels?
India TV is yet another sensational news channel. I do not watch it but it appears as if they have cameras on every street of the nation, even in Taliban. Everyday they get some sensational news and create a havoc among us. Particle accelerator created such confusion last year and all the news channels were happy to announce that they were the 1st to create awareness(confusion) of the Armageddon. After this news a law came up that a governing body can cancel a channel's license if it shows news which is unfit for the audience but this law can be used by the government to hide all its wrong doings.
The only news channels which do not deviate from their purpose of news showing are the business news channels as they have stock markets to discuss on the week days and weekends goes in analyzing the week and predicting the next week.
I just want to end this post by saying won't it be better if the media people used their own brain before showing the news to the audience and it would be better if the government give the tag of entertainment news channels to some of the channels.

life between 05-09
It has been quite a while since I posted something here. My this post is dedicated to my college life which is over now (Gosh! cant believe I don't have to go back now..sad). There were many incidences that happened which I would love to pen down and remember all through my life.
Wish I had a time machine and I could go back to 2005 and start my college all over again and yes I would take my question papers along with me in that time machine ;). I still remember walking through the 1st block of the college with head facing the ground so that no senior could notice me and I can get away from the ragging. College started with me being a part of Gugi gang and ended with Loorie gang. Funny names but it was really nice to be associated with some group. Time really flies, now we laugh over about how immature we were back in 1st year and now we are grown ups, ready to face the world.
Coming to some very peculiar characters of my class. Can't forget the cricket matches on the sunny afternoons which tanned us all so much that the effect still shows on ghai(oops..kidding). Suhas was our gateway to IT. Being termed as magnet for obvious reasons suhas was famous in the very 1st year. Mayank was another funny character, being a hosteler and nick named BBC. Gutsy and always ready to fight. His slaps are really famous in college now. Commutation to college was never a problem as my good friend anurag had a bike. It was his bike on which I learnt driving. The scratches on his bike can tell the complete story though. Tommy was always the rock star and by the time we entered the 8th semester he started to look like one too. Wish we could organize a fund raiser for him so that he could go to a barber to get an haircut and shave off his 10'' long beard.
There were a few trips also in these 4 years of fun time..oops study time. Disaster Management was the 1st of them. It was organized by CISF people and we were taught how to survive in difficult situations but i guess instead of managing the disaster we were busy creating some. It was a nice experience though being away from home for 6 days. I guess the ragging issue scared me so much that I could never talk to my seniors until then but that camp helped me expand my friends group and I found my seniors to be pretty helpful. Then there was another trip to vaishnodevi and patni-top in 2008, the group which went was pretty small, however the fun part wasn't so small. Another trip was the infosys trip which is already a topic on my blog.
There are many more things and many more people which I will mention in my upcoming posts. So stay tuned.

Life without Gas
How important is Gasoline in our life? We all know it is important for our vehicles and we should conserve it. It did not take long for people to realize its actual importance. In January this year the strike in the oil sector hit the country badly enough for it carve for every drop of oil.
It went on for just 2 days and there was already a panic situation in the country. Some were happy that at least for a day the traffic was less on the roads but what if things had gone worse?
Thousands of petrol and diesel pumps ran dry and cooking gas distributors stopped taking orders for fresh supply. Some power stations and refineries also shut down as natural gas supplies failed. In some areas, blacked-out residents could not run their generators due to lack of diesel. This all happened when fuel was not available for a day or two.
How would have things shaped up had it continued? Thinking about the worst case scenario there would have been no cars, buses, autos to travel in. Even the Delhi Metro and other trains would have stopped working. Without any electricity we would not watch the television or work on our computers. All cellphones would have stopped working since nobody could charge their battery again. Things would have somewhat been like the early days of our parents or even worse because they had electricity for a few hours daily. They had some buses running on the roads. Things would have been bad and I do not think anybody of us would like live that era of early 60s or 70s.
My post may sound pessimistic but we got to think about it. If any of us starts to write all the applications of the Gasoline and its close relatives then i may take a week or more to write them all. The point is if all are so dependent on it then why don't we do something about it. Just watching television advertisements about saving fuel will not help. Be smart Act now.

a day in paradise
We went for a one day training program but now we were least interested to attend that. Wanted to stay there in that room forever. We had to attend the training session as it was mandatory. The people were good and the campus was awesome. It looked like a masterpiece. The wave building in the above picture is the food court of the company. After the training we had to leave for Simla(as part of the tour) so we left half heartedly. We did take some pictures in that never ending corridor of the huge guest house.
All of my infosys placed friends were really happy to see that they would start their career at Infosys and I was happy for them.
My day in paradise was over after we left the campus. Simla was fun too but nothing when compared to the infy experience. Like every trip this trip made me learn new things and made me more mature. Till now I was running with everybody but now I know where I want to be. I want to work with an IT giant in a true professional environment just like the one I experienced at Infosys.
I would like to thank GOD and the company for helping me find my LAKSHYA.

V-Day
The controversial valentine's day is finally over with pink chaddis all over. I mean everyone already knew that the "so called activists" will be wandering to catch hold of couples then whats d god damn point in celebrating 14th feb? as if you dont love ur partner on any other day or by giving gifts on d D day wud increase ur love. wats d logic? wouldn't it be better if everyone chooses one other day of 364 days left and celebrate(days being different for different ppl like aniversaries). In this way the activists willbe happy dat 14th feb wont b celebrated & u'll hav an official day to celebrate aswell. I dont mean to hurt anybody feelings but atleast we will have one lesser issue to deal with and d country can b a more peaceful place to live in.
PS - pardon me if i wrote anythin u dint like..it was my 1st attempt at blogging so please bear with me. i'll try n improve.
and all dose who celebrated valentine's day..hope u had fun
GOD BLESS :)
