Life without Gas

How important is Gasoline in our life? We all know it is important for our vehicles and we should conserve it. It did not take long for people to realize its actual importance. In January this year the strike in the oil sector hit the country badly enough for it carve for every drop of oil.
It went on for just 2 days and there was already a panic situation in the country. Some were happy that at least for a day the traffic was less on the roads but what if things had gone worse?

Thousands of petrol and diesel pumps ran dry and cooking gas distributors stopped taking orders for fresh supply. Some power stations and refineries also shut down as natural gas supplies failed. In some areas, blacked-out residents could not run their generators due to lack of diesel. This all happened when fuel was not available for a day or two.

How would have things shaped up had it continued? Thinking about the worst case scenario there would have been no cars, buses, autos to travel in. Even the Delhi Metro and other trains would have stopped working. Without any electricity we would not watch the television or work on our computers. All cellphones would have stopped working since nobody could charge their battery again. Things would have somewhat been like the early days of our parents or even worse because they had electricity for a few hours daily. They had some buses running on the roads. Things would have been bad and I do not think anybody of us would like live that era of early 60s or 70s.

My post may sound pessimistic but we got to think about it. If any of us starts to write all the applications of the Gasoline and its close relatives then i may take a week or more to write them all. The point is if all are so dependent on it then why don't we do something about it. Just watching television advertisements about saving fuel will not help. Be smart Act now.

a day in paradise

Have you have seen MTV ibibo superstar? in which you live the life of a superstar for a day. Well I had the similar experience when i went for my college trip to the Infosys Chandigarh. Even after traveling the whole day we couldn't sleep because of the exceptionally good treatment we got at infy. The room we got would beat the 5 star hotel room on any given day.

We went for a one day training program but now we were least interested to attend that. Wanted to stay there in that room forever. We had to attend the training session as it was mandatory. The people were good and the campus was awesome. It looked like a masterpiece. The wave building in the above picture is the food court of the company. After the training we had to leave for Simla(as part of the tour) so we left half heartedly. We did take some pictures in that never ending corridor of the huge guest house.

All of my infosys placed friends were really happy to see that they would start their career at Infosys and I was happy for them.

My day in paradise was over after we left the campus. Simla was fun too but nothing when compared to the infy experience. Like every trip this trip made me learn new things and made me more mature. Till now I was running with everybody but now I know where I want to be. I want to work with an IT giant in a true professional environment just like the one I experienced at Infosys.

I would like to thank GOD and the company for helping me find my
LAKSHYA.
